To Utilize Biometric Information for Medical Care and Health Support in Everyday Life and Home Environments
To utilize biometric information in everyday life and home environments, it is important to not only measure the data but to acquire it stably and convert it into meaningful information.
- Stably acquire data while minimizing the effects on body movement, posture, the surrounding environment, and device fit
- Appropriately analyze and interpret data accounting for individual differences and temporary fluctuations
- Achieve a balance between measurement precision and the size, wearability, and ease of operation suitable for ongoing use
Murata approaches these challenges through technologies that connect biosensing with data utilization.
Murata's Approach
Murata takes an integrated approach from biosensing to data utilization and combines technologies according to the application and challenge.
We capture the necessary information by acquiring biometric information that was previously difficult to obtain and performing sensing that combines multiple types of biometric information depending on the purpose. We then extract and analyze multiple parameters according to the purpose from the data acquired and convert the biometric information into even more highly valuable information.
In this way, we are working to solve challenges in biometric information utilization in everyday life and home environments by designing the entire process from biosensing to data utilization as an integrated system.

Murata combines our technologies and expertise, including sensors, sensing interfaces, signal processing, communications, implementation, and data analysis, according to the application and challenge to make proposals in a form tailored to the product and service development of our partners.
Going beyond the provision of electronic components, we collaborate to create new value by taking on roles to suit the project from clarifying challenges and requirements to carrying out PoC testing and prototypes, and considering implementation in products and services.

This is a technology that utilizes ballistocardiograms (BCG) to perform sensing and signal processing of the pulse, respiration, and other vital signs of a person lying in bed without contact.
This solution enables the detection of biometric signals and bed status by integrating the extracted biometric signals within customers' systems.
